Do Jeep Wrangler prices change during different times of the year?

In one forum on here someone had suggested that when purchasing a used jeep wrangler (TJ) that there may be more demand for them in the summer, therefore higher prices. Has anyone encountered this, or was that just an assumption?

Prices move more with the price of gas, than time of year.

Used Jeep prices will vary so much due to other factors, time-of-year won't play a significant enough role for anyone to actually show that the season had anything to do with the final selling price.

Hey cool something I'm actually qualified to talk about (just to expand on the earlier comments)...

I own part interest in a used-car dealership that specializes in Wranglers (though we do sell all other makes/models as well). Many cars go noticeably up and down as the seasons come and go (convertibles and sports cars hot in summer, cheap in the winter, 4x4's hot in the winter, cheaper in summer, etc.) but Wranglers (as the other poster said) tend to remain steady year-round, as they have summer appeal because they are a convertible of sorts (maybe the ultimate convertible?), and winter appeal because of the 4wd. One thing we have noticed, however, is that there is a marked fluctuation in the price of hardtop vs. soft top Wranglers during the seasons. Hardtop Wranglers bring a premium in the winter (and soft-tops tend to bring a little less), but then in the summer two equivalent Wranglers, hardtop vs. soft tend to bring about the same money. So if you are looking for one vs. the other, you might try looking in that respective season. Hope that helps.

Thanks for all the info, from looking online at all my local dealerships etc. that are selling used wranglers most seem to have both hard and soft tops that the previous owner had purchased, so I am not sure if that would affect the hardtop in winter price. I read a lot on here that many people use their soft tops in the winter, but being farther north, a hard top would definitely be what would be most popular.
