Decisions Decisions...
Need your advice on what Jeep here is the better deal.
I'm pretty much 100% sold on a 05 or 06 Unlimited as what I want. I've found 3 I'm really interested in, one completely stock, the other two with some mods. They're all 4.0 and 6 speeds. First the stock one, priced at $13k with 51k miles and has a hardtop. The payment on this would be super cheap which is the main reason I considered this one. The next one is a 2006 with 36k miles for $19500 and has a hardtop. Mods are a lift, 35's, snorkel, warn bumpers and winch, extended fender flares, and light bar across the windshield, round tail lights in the rear... Basically everything I would want to do to a Jeep is already done right here. Just worried about the price. The last one is a 2005 Rubicon with 46k miles for $16200, but no hardtop. Also has a lift, 33's (maybe?), new winch, bumpers, lights. Not quite as many mods as the 2nd one but of course it has the Rubicon package, but no hardtop again, which I'd really like to have. I really like the 2nd one but think the price is too high. I think the Rubi would be cool too but I don't really think i'm gonna be a hardcore wheeler as-to where I'd need the lower gears and better axles/lockers, etc. And then of course the first one is super cheap and I could save money for mods and build it however I want. So what which one do you guys think is the better choice?

Mod'd out Jeeps can be risky cause you never really know if everything was done right...I'm not only talking the big pieces but even the easy stuff like lighting sytems...the big question is: was one of the previous owners a Micky Mouser and if so, how big of a bite is it going to take out of my butt and my wallet to make things right....
Generally the closer to stock the better....it will probably cost you a bit more to build it, but at least you will know it is right and you'll only have to pay for it once. If you are going to buy one of the Mod'd ones, get some help inspecting it first by a couple of very knowledgable Jeepers. If it doubt...buy the stocker if it has been taken care of!

I would say the first or the 3rd one. I would run far far away from the second one too may mods, and 35s can cause some very bad and expensive problems if not done properly which most are not. The 3rd one is a Rubicon and definatly worth the price difference, and it is still fairly close to stock with just 33s, probably a small lift. So I would defiantly jump on the 3rd if in as good of shape as the first one. The 3K differance is very good considering with a Rubicon you are getting about 6-7K of extras you would probably want to add to a non Rubicon anyway.
