Dealers Responses Appreciated . . .
If someone with some experience in this area could help me understand the following, I would appreciate it very much.
I stopped into a Jeep dealer today to look into pricing on remaining 2012 JKU's, assuming prices will be lowered to move stock in preparation for the 2013's. All the dealer was willing to do was honor the Tread Lightly/Chrysler Affiliate Rewards 1% below invoice price.
Hasn't it been customary in previous years to reduce pricing even further to clear out old inventory to make room for the new model year? If not, what incentive is there to buy a technically year old model when one could buy the latest model? Even though a 2012 is new, as soon as the 2013's hit the market, the 2012's have lost a year's depreciation. Certainly something should be deducted from the price to compensate for that depreciation. No?
Or, am I just too early in expecting lowered prices since the 2013's aren't out yet and the dealers aren't quite ready to really deal to move inventory?
Thanks for your help!

Ralph...remember that article I sent you. You are in the Driver's seat. Use the knowledge....The prices are not going to drop like they did in 2011 because of the Pentastar was coming out. No changes for '13 except some color changes. And the Altitude edition is pretty cool. If you haven't seen it yet.

Prices on wranglers don't normally fall, short of another economic collapse, because the dealers rarely have problems moving wranglers, which are one of the best selling vehicles. When it comes to other vehicles you may see prices start to drop early to late June. Since there is no change in appearance, or engines this year a price drop is even more unlikely.
