CJ-5 "Golden Eagle" model

Hello all. I am thinking about purchasing a late 70's Jeep CJ-5 with the "Golden Eagle" package (Large Eagle decal on the hood) from an older gentleman in town. I tried surfing the web for exactly what came with that Limited Edition model, but I can't find much. I was hoping a member might have a Jeep link they could post or share some information.

i had one about 15 years ago...

it had a 304 (i think) amc v-8, 3 speed, i think it had a tach, but the gas gauge never worked..

it got roughly 9 miles to the gallon, but was a great ride! it was awesome. Mine had the levi's package, the seats had levi's logo on the buttons, the top was brown, and had hard top, full doors, and soft doors..

hope this helps..

Wander over to the CJ forum and do a search for "orignal levis jeep." There is a fairly recent thread with some good info there. You will find that most mods were done at the dealership, not Jeep, or AMC. A lot of owners have posted what there particular model came equipped with originally. Everything from seats, gauges, decals to tire and wheel combos. I also have most of this info either saved or in my head. If you don't find what you are looking for in the search, post a question here and I will see what info I can dig up for you. Good luck with the search and the future purchase.
