Cj-3b

New to this forum I can get a 1953 or 1954 CJ-3B for free. Not to sure I want it yet. Father inlaw says body is rough. I will see it this week. I think its going to be a money pit. This would be my first jeep I can do anything mechanical. I've never tried body work. I think it's original.

I have a 60 3B and live in Sylacauga,Alabama. I love mine and would be hard pressed to ever get rid of it. All old jeeps have a tendencey to absorb money but they are a labor of love. I rarely ride down the street without someone wanting to buy it or talk about when they had one. I say go for it but realize these are not modern vehicles much less a modern jeep.

Thanks for the reply. I saw it over Thanksgiving Week end. It's rough I took some pictures. I'll try to post tonight. I'm still debating It's up in West Virginia at my father inlaws place. It's the old 6 volt system. Its got a home made wood top and doors I would rip it off. I couldn't see it very good the place where is stored hade no lights. I was taking pictures blind. I had to slide through the door to get in. It's going to be free up front. If you send your e-mail I'll send some pics. Thank's in advance.

do you know what they look like? after a DJ they are an ugly jeep, I have had several. you cant go wrong with FREE, but you are right it will be a money pit.
A new tub for a 3B wil be much harder to find, you wont find one at a "get rid of it price"(I never did) it will most likely have 5:38 axles witch means its not really practicle for any sort of trasportation these days.

I say go for it just to learn stuff.

The ideology of RADICAL Islam is very much like Nazism, except they donít have the cool black uniforms.

Screw it I'm too old for this crap!

no! no!no! not ugly. It has more beef than the 3A and flat fenders that look better than the 5. Please , Please don't talk about the girl I always bring to the dance that way.
