Buying 78 wagoneer

Have a chance to buy good condition 78 wagoneer for 2000.00 Has a little rust at wheel wells. 143,000 original miles. However it has a 350 motor. Shouldn't this be a 360 and not the gm motor? What else should I look for to make sure it is not parted together? Thank you for your help!

Do you think that the 350 came from the factory? I am concerned it will be a mishmash of parts. Thanks

Actually some of the early 70's wagoneers and cherokees came with buick 350s from the factory. 78 should have been an AMC 360 though.

2001 amber fire cherokee sport 4x4, 2 in lift, 30x9.50 generals, 174 ion wheels, pretty much stock.
