I've been looking for the last couple weeks for a new 4 dr JK. None of the 6-7 dealers in my area are willing to deal much at all. I'm surprised at how little they'll move on price.

Basically the rebates are about all they're doing.

Are the smokin' deals just not out there now?

If all the dealers are unwilling to deal in your area that probably means that they are not having any problems selling wranglers and have no incentive to sell them for cheaper. When I bought mine, I didnt get much more off than the rebate. The problem with buying a wrangler is that the minute you express an interst they know they have you. Its not like people look at a wrangler and then say since they didnt get a good deal they are going to buy a kia. They have cornered the market and there is no one else who offers a product that is as capable off the lot as theirs especailly since toyota stopped making decent off road vehicles and caters exclusivly to soccer moms.

I bought mine first week in November. Local dealers wouldn't search for the exact model that I wanted. I found a dealer 400 miles away with a new Jeep (25 miles on the odometer) optioned with what I wanted (manual transmission, half doors). Closed the deal and had it shipped to me.
