When I asked my dealer to change some of the options, he told me that he could not do so once the order was placed, unless they were "add-ons" that he could accomplish at the dealership.
For what it's worth, one of the things that I wanted to change was the seats -- like you, I wanted to change them to leather once Jeep made those available. He told me I couldn't do it. However, he did offer up the Katzkin leather seat covers as an option, which I really like because I can take them on an off and sort of have the best of both worlds -- leather or cloth whenever I prefer. Also, the Katzkin leather seat covers now can accommodate the front side airbags if that is important to you, as it was for me. That said, it can't hurt to ask your dealer to see if he can pull a favor for you by changing the seats at the production facility.

The Factory Has Shipped!
The dealership notified me that my vehicle is finally on the way! It has been shipped and it should arrive in about a week.
Hopefully, the weather will cooperate. Lately my area has been getting a lot of rain. ![]() |

Same here. In fact, here is the e-mail that I got this afternoon: "Your Jeep is currently on a train car in Ohio on its way to Atlanta. The Jeep is supposed to arrive on the 30th. It will take a few days to get the accessories on the Jeep after it arrives, but it is on its way."
I hope that he is right on timing. I would be thrilled to take delivery in early November. |

I just placed an order for a 2010 Unlimited Sport in Natural Green. My dealer told me I would see it by the end of November at the latest, and I think that's fairly accurate.
As far as the colour of Natural Green, there is a video floating around the net from Chrysler with one of the execs talking about picking paint colours and it shows you a really good example of the paint colour on the wall behind him, if I can find it, I'll post it... |

Canada1984, I would sure love a link to the video. I know you can see the Natural Green Jeep now on Jeep.com, but not sure it reflects the true color! Has anyone seen one yet at a dealership?

I found this on Chrysler's own blog its a great video on how they choose colors. Also a sneak peak at some new colors for the JK. Chrysler Blog - A Passionate Palette As well, for people who have been saying that its the same as "Timberline Green" on older Rams, thats incorrect. The paint code for them is PGW. Greetings!
Long time reader first time poster. I ordered my 4dr Sahara 8/31/09, (Dark Charcoal/black hardtop) they gave me the typical 6-8 wks delivery time. Yesterday (10/26/09) the Dealer called to tell me that they have no idea when I would get my Jeep. The reason they stated was that they are experiencing parts problems. They specifically said that the company that manufactures the hard tops had gone bankrupt. The Dealer further stated that the hard top manufacturer had been purchased by "Magna" and operations would resume at some point, but they were unsure when that would be. After a decent bit of research, the only corroboration I can find to my dealer's story, has been in this thread (and the Toledo Blade of course haha). But, as indicated in previous posts, it seems the plant is now running, so I have to assume, that my order still has some sort of status. My question is, how do I find out this status? Is there a web site I can access to check my order status? Are there certain pointed questions I can ask my dealer for them to give me a firm reply on my order status? My fear is that my dealer botched things up, and they are now trying to get out of our deal. This fear is greater emphasized by the fact they have offered me other Saharas, but in different colors (all 2010). Anything you guys could suggest to help me get a little more clarity here would be greatly appreciated. Canada1984, I noticed your location is pretty close to mine, and that your dealer fully expected your vehicle to deliver by late November. Have you had any updates lately? For me, another month would not be a big deal at all, as long as there is still some sort of progress being made. Suggestions? Thanks in advance for your replies. |

It could have been the hard top issues was one of the "part shortages". However, I have not heard that and local dealers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area are still getting hard tops. I know the Dar Charcoal was being delayed until this month, but let me check and see if I can get an update on that. Both the Charocal and new Natural Green Pearl were late in building. I ordered my Unlimited 4 weeks ago and checked with dealer on Monday. It still has not been scheduled, but they are still believing it will be around the first of the year. I ordered the leather seats, and from what I can find out, they are being delayed until early November. My dealer said, that if your ordered options that they do not have, they do NOT start building your jeep until they are all rectified. The others might share their comments on such. In checking, I now see their is currently NO HOLD on the Jeep Unlimited in Charcoal. The only hold showing are the leather seats until 11/27. Hope ya get GRAND news. If you got much off sticker price, your dealer may just be skiddish!

Hey guys. I ordered mine as a sport with only tow group. No other options! So I have soft top and no a/c, the fiancé and I feel that's what makes it Jeep lol. My dealer has told me thT we are still on track for delivery as originally determined.
There is a number you can call with your VON number that will give you the most recent status, it is 1 800 992 1997. Your dealer should be able to give you your VIN or VON number. |
