Is anyone else thinking of maybe renegotiating their contract?? Do you think the dealership should kick in an additional incentive to compensate for our troubles??
I mean, just because mom and dad are fighting (aka Chrysler and Daimler), their kids (aka us) shouldn't have to suffer. What would Jesus (aka Dr. Phil) do?

Well it's not the DEALERSHIP'S fault but yeah it would be nice if Chrysler would offer incentives or something... but I doubt Chrysler will as struggling as they obviously are...

I am more worried about getting a Jeep that is built with cobbled-together parts because they are having difficulties finding them...I am debating calling the dealership & requesting a delay in building my order until this mess gets sorted out but I don't know if you can do that once your vehicle is listed on "D" build status @ the factory.

so, it sounds like the only way I'll get one anytime soon is to find one already on a dealership lot. Unfortunately my local dealers only have the black Rubi Unlimited, and my wife and I like the Red Rock.

I'm still concerned, maybe we'll wait till they make their announcements in November. After all it's only a month away.

The dealer gave me an update. My order is in D1 status. At least that is better than nothing, but there is still a considerable waiting period. Supposedly, I will have the Rubicon at the end of this month. To those of you planning to order now, assume that you won't get the vehicle until 2010.

On the purchase front, even our sales woman said if we really want a particular color we should ask to have one transferred from another dealer outside our area.

I stopped by my dealer again today. The jeep I ordered August 17th still has no delivery date. I was given the impression that by the end of November should be a more realistic arrival date. Also, those who’ve ordered their jeep in dark charcoal grey will have to wait even longer. The color wont even be ready for production until Oct 12th if where lucky. My dealer tried to convince me to pick another color in hopes to speed things up and not loose me as a customer.

I got my VIN number today and it is supposedly scheduled for October 28th ship. We'll see... I ordered the dark charcoal gray color. I am keeping my fingers crossed in light of everyone's progress with their orders. Perhaps we will all have our new jeeps by year end!

I don't have any update about 2010 yet, I'm still planning a new project to my jeep and still starting to have some ideas.

I ordered my 2010 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon (silver) on July 18th, and finally found out that my order had been moved to D1 status last week, with an estimated completion date of today (October 9th). The dealer tells me that he should actually receive my Jeep by the end of the month. When I first placed the order, he told me that I could expect to receive my Jeep "between November and March".

He also confirmed -- when I spoke to him last week -- that the Charcoal orders likely will take much longer than other orders.

Not sure what that's worth to you guys, but thought I'd throw all of that out there.

Considering that a 3-shift factory has been shut down for a week, the completion date isn't really today. The October 9th completion date is just another modifiable projected date. The BEST you can hope for is delivery by the end of this month. November delivery is more realistic. There have been two delays so far due to parts shortage. What's next?

Ordered a 2010 Unlimited Sahara in Natural Green Pearl. Currently, have one leased...in the Jeep Rescue Green (awesome color I thought). Anyway, I'm looking for a crisp shot of the new color. And, does anyone know if they have produced any with that color yet?
