I am still ambivalent since I really like leather, but I have never owned a jeep so I will listen to others advice. I also got the manual tranny. Haven't driven standard in years, but I think "muscle memory" will kick in! I will post pictures as soon as it arrives.
Are they still giving you Feb. or Mar. 2010 delivery date?

Click free brother.

Looks good. Does yours have the newly designed soft top? If so, does it seem that much easier to fold up/down over the other JKs?

Yes it does and it is VERY easy to fold especially the sunrider part, you can open it in about 10 seconds and put it back as fast...

It rained a lot this weekend and absolutely no leak so far...Will see how it goes over time...

Does anyone have a buddy that works for Chrysler who could potentially share a web access login for the following (or similar) order status tracking link...

http://www.fleetchrysler.ca/en/order_status.php

I mean, if I have a VIN #, there should be a back door web link for me to track my order myself instead of harassing the dealership.

I ordered my Wrangler 30 days ago & the Jeep salesman called today to tell me my order just got moved to "D" status - I am hoping this means it will be built within the next 30 days

Still no word on my delivery. I thought my vehicle have arrived by now since I placed the order back in about May. Hopefully, I will have it in October. This is really a disappointing and discouraging affair.

I was just reading on AOL business that Chrysler will most likely be out of business within a year. It was further stated that Chrysler is basically gone, just hasn't been announced. Does this bother anyone? What will that mean for our warranties, repairs, etc.?

Chrysler will be here, just owned by Fiat. No change to your warranty.

I ordered back in August 17th 2009 and was quoted up to 2 months for delivery. For the last couple of weeks, my order status has also been "D" and I have a VIN #.
My dealer explained that the order was assigned but with no delivery date.

Today I called the dealer for yet another update and was told that my order is now status "C". Not knowing what that meant, I jokingly said:” That’s good right? I mean, a "C" is better then a "D" is it??" The dealer said:” No it’s not, I'll have to e-mail my supplier to find out what the heck is going on and I'll call you back by Monday"

Not sure what to think??? The worst part is that I sold my car privately in the first week of August so that I wouldn’t loose on trading in. Now I’m temporarily driving a piece of “poo poo” car with holes the size of grapefruits in the floor pan, while I wait for my 2010 Rubi to be born.

The Toledo Jeep Wrangler plant is going to be shut down for a week due to a parts shortage. I read this on Automotive News today. They didn't say which part though.

Oh no. What else can go wrong? The bad news is on the Motor Trend website, too.

Parts Bin: Temporary Wrangler Plant Closure; Daimler/Chrysler Feud Reignites - Wide Open Throttle - Motor Trend Magazine

"The shutdown is due to the continued stress in the automotive supply chain..."

At this rate my new Rubicon will end up as a Christmas present to myself.

The one week shutdown of the Toledo Wrangler Plant mentioned earlier has been confirmed. The local TV and Radio stations are issuing notices to the employees not to report for one week beginning October 5th. Bummer for those waiting for their 2010's. Not sure, but I think they are going to continue shipping those units already built and off-line. Hang in there.
