Affiliate Rewards Program

Gentle Folks,

Ready to make the jump back into a Jeep after my brood has (nearly) left the nest. Owned a CJ5 in High School & a Grand Wagoneer in college. The Willys Wheeler Package reminds me of my long retired CJm & I hope to land one!

Question on the Chrysler Affiliate Rewards Program ...

Tread Lightly is obviously an established and well deserving organization for off roaders ... But I'm also a member of USAA.

This web site ( lists USAA as an Affiliate member.

MSRP for the build I'm looking at is roughly $32,000 for a factory order, USAA Car Buying Service found a dealer willing to knock $1,700 off MSRP.

I think that's a fair deal, but I'm admittedly 100% ignorant of Jeep pricing since the glory days of the late 70's & early 80's.

Thanks in advance!

I think that listing is for employees of USAA and not members. At least that was what I took away when I was looking. I used USAA/Truecar and got a better deal than the Treadlightly program when I bought my KL. I calculated 1% below invoice off the invoice estimate (the info is floating around though) and then took the price they were claiming the dealership would give me. Dealership honored the price and it was a better deal. I also got the 500 Jeep credit that was being offered on top.

I also financed through USAA too so the whole process was pretty simple.

there was a lengthy discussion recently on one of the other sections of the board about USAA pricing. it is not always what it is cracked up to be.

also, be extremely weary of there are several lawsuits against them right now, they're the least reputable site for public pricing info.

and remember, the only person who can tell you if the deal is fair or not is YOU. if you're paying less than the sticker price, which is the price that the manufacturer says it should be sold for, that means that the dealer is removing profit in order to earn you as a customer. profit is not a dirty word.
