Abandoned YJ in Dallas

There is this abandoned YJ at my employers secured parking lot I'm trying to get. I know it's a 94 with a 2.5 and 5spd. Not much more info beyond that. It's likely not running at all. If the owner wants money for it what would be a fair offer?

Around here, it'd go for $4-5k, but only because it's a Jeep and they're stupid over-priced here. I'd offer them $500 and see where it went.

Yeah I was thinking 500.00 also. Jeeps in North Texas are largely mall crawlers and this one looks all stock so maybe I'll get lucky

I'm with them, $500.

Keep in mind the hassle you may have to go thru for a new title on an abandoned vehicle.

Well the only way to get it is to get the owner to transfer the title. Abandoned vehicles in texas have to be handled through the law.

Looks like more than a headache than worth, plus the title issue would make it not worth my time IMO. I'm sure the owner left it there for some reason in the first place. If you want to tackle it good luck and let us know how it comes out.

Well if the owner doesn't want it and will sign over the title then I can get it for free. If he wants some crazy amount of money I'll have my employer tow it.

Nothing as of yet. Ive tried calling the owner several times with no luck. Next step is to apply for a bonded title.

Worth a try, if for nothing but parts.
