'99 XJ sport q's

Ok so I've found a '99 XJ with some slight mods that i'm getting serious about. 4" lift he says is a "Rubicon" -- assuming its Rubicon express. Is there a quick way to identify the different lifts on these rigs? Yellow coils up front but that doesn't mean much, at least i don't think..

Looks like its been wheeled but not too bad. Couple of dents where the fenders weren't trimmed and rubbed the tires. and the driver side mirror is missing. He states "mirror hit a tree and I haven't replaced it". Got a solid winch-mount bumper up front. Will need one on rear. First fab project? I think so...

Says engine and tranny were rebuilt 50K miles ago, currently has 207K on her. "rebuilt" can mean anyting but it starts up first crank and sounds strong, never hesitated. Going to drive it today to check for rust and get a feel for it on the road.

anything else I should look for?

He wants $2500. fair price?

Just drove it. Wouldn't call it a death wobble, but a good bit of vibration on acceleration. Vibes go away when I let off the gas, the front end feels fine. He says it needs rear tires and that's the cause of the vibes.

Fired up cold and drove well, other than the vibes. steering was good, accelerated well and felt good overall. Just curious about the lift and acceleration vibes.

any thoughts?

TIA

or is this where the phrase "build it don't buy it" comes into play...

do the trannies typically act like this when they get back? transfer case?
