Is this '90 Wrangler worth $5300

I am new to Jeeps and looking at a 1990 Wrangler. It has 62,000 original mile on a 4.2L Automatic. 4" suspension lift with 33's. What do you think?

It looks clean and miles are good. I'd hit it.

looks like a pretty clean jeep, since this jeep has been lifted i would recommend that you take a look at the underside to check for visible trail damage. if everything else checks out i would try to talk him down a couple of hundred dollars.

So I talked to the owner and he said that the only thing that needs to be addressed is as follows:

The automatic transmission is slow to shift from gear to gear (especially when cold). He said that it is the "coil" and that there is a screw that can be adjusted which fixes the problem for about a month and then it comes back. Supposed to be $200-$250 to fix it. I don't have experience working on automatic transmissions and I could not find anything in this forum (along with google) that addresses this issue. Any ideas what it may be and how big of an issue it is?

Thanks again,
B.

Are you sure that's an automatic? It looks like the stick is where I'd expect an auto shifter to be. Ask for more and better pictures.

I'd tell him to fix it and you'll give him full price. If you balks on that, offer him 1k below his asking price since he isn't willing to get it fixed, which would lead me to believe that the fix is gonna be more than a couple of hundred bucks.

It's an auto on the tree. The floor shifter is the transfer case shifter.
