2010 Wrangler R/T

I was just over at the ALLPAR.COM website and it mentions all of the changes for the 2010 Wrangler including the new colors and a new R/T package. Anybody out there know what this is?? I will be visiting a dealer thisa week and will try to find out, but thought one of you "connected guys" might already know.

All I could do is guess, but it sounds interesting. Wonder if it would be a "street" tuned Wrangler?

Yea all I have got to say is, if they come out with a V8 wrangler, I will find everyway possible to get out of my current one and into that one, and they are gonna have leather, which is something I have always wanted. Just easier to keep clean IMO.

Yea if they do that I will sell everything I have that says Jeep on it and disown Jeep completely. First straw was the 4 door Wrangler, then the second is the completely independent supsension Grand so yea I'm with ya man.

I'm sure the R/T will be a wrangler lowered, with independent suspension all around designed by Mercedes like the GC is. And maybe leather, the soccer moms will love, the can just step right in, instead of climb in.

The only thing I found on the net about the R/T wrangler, this is from the Dodge Nitro forum. They say it will be lowered, have a supercharger, and Nitro head lights and Jeep grill. So I am wondering if the R/T wrangler will be a re badged liberty, since the liberty and the nitro share the same chassis.

I hope that what you said is just a rumor. WHO THE HELL wants a lowered wrangler. If this is true i can now see why chrysler is going down...

Finally made a contact in the Jeep Product Development office this afternoon and the "un-named source" close to the project was busy disavowing any knowledge of the Wrangler R/T for 2010. Seems very suspicous to me but let's hope it doesn't turn out to be a lowered "ricer design" with low profile tires and some R/T badges or decals. That will really piss-off the real Jeepers out here!!

If there really exists an R/T, then it almost certainly would have to be lowered. After all, R/T means racing. Put a V8 engine in a JK and the high center of gravity is going to be a death sentence. There is only one way around that problem -- lower it. We'll know in a few weeks.
