2008 JK Wrangler

I'm looking at buying a new 2008 JK 2 door wrangler, and I have been given conflicting data on lift kits and the drivetrain warranty. One dealer told me as long as I don't install the lift myself, the warranty will still stand. The other told me, I would only be able to put a two inch lift on, then, any higher than that, and it would void the warranty.

Does anyone know any useful information for me?

Thanks,

NICK

GET IT IN WRITING! Whatever it is.

As long as you don't do it yourself? What if you are a professional lift installer? Or what if you have your friend do it? Doesn't hold water.

I am far from a professional, so that won't be an issue
Getting it in writing would be a great idea!

in writing

I would add getting it in writing by a Person at the dealer that has a voice, not a sales person, more likely the General Managers signature also, or the Owner of the dealer if that's possible. For instance if the person who signs that deal, isn't there when you need coverage, then you got nothing.

Why not read the warranty and see what voids it.

I was told that any aftermarket work can void your warranty BUT only if they can prove that the problem was caused by that aftermarket work.
