2008 JK Price?

Hello all.

I'm looking at a 2008 Jk X and was wondering what you guys thought of the price. I've been haggling now for three days with several stealerships in my area. Here are the specs.

2008 unlimited x

red rock paint
auto tranny
6 disk cd player with infinity speaker package
locking differential and electronic sway bar disconnect
trailer tow group.

the MSRP is 28450.00

I've managed to get them down so far to 26568.00 before taxes and tags.

Any thoughts?

Here is what I say on price. Work from invoice price, demand to see it on the one you are looking at or get invoice from KBB.com. I have visited one dealer, and I already have them at $660 below invoice, I am going to hit them with a round figure like $800 below invoice, and hold on that until they do it. If they smell that you have got to have it, you are dead. Neg. for X amount below invoice, that is the only way to get a price. Sounds to me like you are a bit over invoice still, Hammer them. Good luck.

Invoice?

Question would be, who's "invoice" price. I too am looking to buy a new Jeep, but I must order because I live in Louisiana and apparently its not a strong market for Jeeps - nuff of that. If I have done my homework correctly, the dealers "invoice" price includes the manufacturer's holdback. I plan to go off of Edmunds.com invoice price. I feel that is something I kind of control. The paperwork the dealer shows me wouldn't hold much water in my book. But thats me.

KBB's invoice vs the dealers invoice that I have is within a couple hundered, the hold back is more then that by far. Inconclusion, I believe the invoice that the dealer gave me is correct. There are factors not taken into consideration on KBB's sight as of today so that is just about the difference on mine.
