2005 2D unlimited

New to Jeeps, and might be in the market for a new vehicle to get back and forth to work and weekend play toy for summer time, career change pending!

I did very little research to see what the difference is between the trim package of Sport, Sahara, and Renegade and currently understand the basics of what the difference is between the 3.

A guy just down the street has a 2005 2D unlimited for sale. I asked him what the unlimited package included. He said that it is a stretched 2D. Looking online, I am seeing short and long wheel base unlimited 2d Jeeps for that specific year. Are the pics online deceiving or is the seller full of *****? What is all included in the Unlimited Trim Package?

All unlimiteds are long wheel base, and that's pretty much it. If you see a short wheelbase that says unlimited, it's full of ****.

What is recommended for a transmission type in a Jeep? Standard? Automatic? Wife and myself have driven standard transmissions our whole life, didn't know if any benefit between the two when playing in the hills with a Jeep.

I personally see the benefit of a standard transmission to use a lower gear setting (1st and 4L) when needed, but is a guy in that setting much?
