2002 Wrangler X questions
Hey guys, looking to buy a 2002 Wrangler X. V6 4.0L 5spd manual, 120k miles, they're asking $7900, I got them down to $7500 out the door. Does this sound like a fair price?
New(er) tires, Uniroyal Liberator A/T's. Red in color New soft top Interior is really clean, looks to be 100% stock What do you think, this will be my first jeep and want to make sure it's a fair price. I have some photos I could post, but not sure if I'm able to being that I am a new member and this is my first post. Thanks all. -Chris

Sounds fair enough...
A couple things to look for in an Jeep that year with those miles: -Leaks, before you drive it, look for oil spots on the ground under the engine, also, crawl around underneath it and look for any excessive oil or fluid spots. The rear seal, t-case, pinion's, and differentials are known to leak at that "age"... -Drive it... drive it slow, drive it fast, turn both directions, stop abruptly, etc... Dont listen to any music, keep your ears open for unusual noises and your nose open for bad smells... Make sure it shifts nicely through all the gears... and make sure you go in reverse. -Ask how many owners, where its spent most of its "life", and if its had regualar routine maintance. It could be that the previous owner was good to the Jeep and it doesnt have an issue, OR it could be that he treated it like crap, and youll be paying WAY to much... Good Luck!

Thanks Austin, I'll have to check that out. I looked under neath it yesterday, no leaks that I've noticed. I'll definitely check for those things. It appears to be very clean, and well maintained. I'll keep everyone posted, if all goes well, I'll place some money down tonight.

Make sure you check it out AFTER you drive it also, just in case its been cleaned since its been sitting there. Test driving could uncover other leaks.

Sounds like a good deal to me, and it's an I6 not a V6 like a minivan.
