2000 xj

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and new to having a Jeep. Wondering if anyone has advice for purchasing a 2000 XJ? I hear the 2000 and 2001 are bad motor years and wondering what the details are on it. Thanks!

I am specifically looking at a 2000 Sport with 123K. Runs great and quiet as a church mouse. Thanks for the help : )

Also, what size lift do you recommend for getting 31 10.50s under it? I heard that a 3" lift just won't give you enough room unless you chop the fenders a little. I like the stock height for putting roof rack items on but the lifted ones just look so darn cool : )

If I do go with a 4.5" or something, I also have to probably get a slip yoke eliminator. Is this something I can buy without welding anything for install?

Anyone going to Phish Hampton Coliseum this weekend in Hampton Virginia? If I can grab this XJ this weekend, I may run it down there to see how she does

Does anyone have any advice on roof racks? I like the Garvin ones but are they worth the money? I'd rather not use my little stock rack that I got.

I am excited to get my first XJ. I am a father and homeowner and just can't continue trying to think I can keep a YJ for long.

I am selling my YJ as well, if anyone has any interest in it. I don't know the etiquette so I won't give too many details here til I can post it in the classified section here.

If I do lift this some day, are there "tipping" concerns that arise with putting weight on the roof of an XJ? Spare tire and shovel, axe, gas can would be all the weight I can imagine I would have

Are the Rubicon Express lifts pretty good compared to Rough Country? Are the Rough Country ones stiff?
