Thinking about 2000 Grand Cherokee Limited, no start?
Newbie here, looking at a 2000 Grand Cherokee Limited with 115k miles, it has the 4.7. It does not start but is in great condition otherwise.
The guy told me he's not sure why it won't start, but he was told the ASD is not getting power. EDIT TO ADD: It cranks/turns over but will not start
What's the worst case scenario here? A new PCM? An expensive wire harness? Trying to figure out the worst case parts cost before I purchase the vehicle. I've been reading threads on the forum here but it's a lot to digest and would like to make an offer tonight if this is feasible.
I should mention I'm not a mechanic, but I can do tune ups, brakes, change alternators, tie rods, do fluid changes, stuff like that, but I've never done anything inside an engine. I also know how to use a digital multimeter, and I have a mechanic buddy with an 03 WJ that can lend me a hand.
Really love the forum here!
