1989 Jeep Yj - islander

I am looking at buying red 1989 jeep Yj - islander edition. It is in good condition being a 1989 Yj. It has no rust at all other than the battery mount(this is not concern for me) but I will eventually fix it. The breaks or in good condition, the seat belt is broken, all fluids need to be changed, the paint need to be stripped. It also needs new tires. There is a small leak of what I suppose is oil; I will pin point this in the future. I am new to the whole jeep concept and I do not have much experience with jeep. I am wondering if there are any details, tips, or any issues that may oppose.

Check the frame over big time. And dont pay too much!

Check to be sure the 4x4 actually engages. 4L will drop the gearing, but can actually be 2L (trust me )

Id just get posi-lock. Fixes the 4x4 issues. Not a big deal
