1983 Jeep Cherokee 4 Door

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and I'm looking for some advice. I have previously owned an 01' Wrangler that I unfortunately sold for a commuter car (which sucks in Wisconsin winters). Hence the reason I'm posting here. I miss my jeep and growing up my grandfather had two cherokees and I was always in love with them. Recently the city I live in had a car swap meet. Driving through town I spotted for sale a 1983 4 door cherokee for sale. There is only one rust spot on the driver's side rocker panel thats about the size of a silver dollar. I called him and he told me that the leather interrior is original and there are no rips or cracks in it. The original engine was replaced due to harmonic balancer issues. The current inline 6 had its carb replaced. He told me that it starts but doesn't really run well since it has sat for 2 years in storage. The transmission has a small leak from which he told me is from a pinched gasket, and he has a replacement gasket that goes with the cherokee.

All in all it looks like a really solid Jeep. I'm only 20 so I'm not all that knowledgeable on the mechanics of everything and would like the forum's opinion on this find.

Does this sound like an easily fixable Jeep?

I can't wait to hear from everyone and thanks in advance!
