1981 Cherokee Cheif

I have this 1981 right hand drive cherokee chief, 2 door, 360 V8, Automatic 3 speed trans. Here are a couple pictures. What do you think it's worth?

I don't want to sell but probably will since my wife got laid off from a school district. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

The odometer reads 44,xxx, I had paperwork from the previous owner stating 68k when he bought it, so it is really 144k. As most jeeps the 4 wheel drive operates perfectly as it should, the interior is in great condition. I recently did the front and rear dif gaskets/oil and tranny pan gasket/oil. All were weaping a little and I don't like leaks. Always starts up, engine runs smooth, drives like a jeep! The engine bay could use a little cleaning up which I might get to in the next week or so. Things I would do if I was going to keep it: New Carburetor/Air Cleaner, Suspension all around, Track down some intermittent electric items. Let me know if there is anything else you would like to know.

That's reasonable, all I have to do now is build up my 15 posts so I can list it properly. Thanks.

I had it on craigslist for $5800 for about a month, one guy was ready to buy until he finally realized it was right hand drive. So I will start out asking 5k here and see what happens. I had no intention of selling this, it is an awesome jeep that gets compliments everywhere I go.

Thank you, I agree but some people don't see it that way. I am sure a jeep enthusiast would. A new question for anybody out there: Is there a way to tell what country your jeep was manufactured in by the VIN?? The guy I bought it from was from great Britain, but I don't know for a fact that it came from there.

And 2 = Canada. Could be a special for a postal delivery guy, but the mileage doesn't jive, as a postal delivery unit would have mega-miles on it.
