1979 Cj7 on ebay

Any thoughts on value here? I've been wanting one for a long time, but don't want to pay for anything real nice. Sort of wanting a "test run" jeep that won't depreciate and will be able to get money back out of if needed.

I've got the cash, but don't want to lose a bunch...but I do want to have some fun with the kids. Is this a pretty fair deal? Just want to pay whats reasonable.

It's just far enough away I can't pick up and go look, but could go pick it up if I purchase.

none of pics show much. personally, when people put "bed liner on anything" to me that is to cover up, rust never sleeps even covered up. Anything this old you can can count on working on. if you can do all the work, still inexpressive. you can not more so.

frame rust and where the body connects are areas to check very carefully. as well as leaks.

Check it out before you bid. Don't buy site unseen. That being said with the bedlined exterior I wouldn't give him much more than the bid is at currently and that would be with a 98% rust free frame and body.

Thanks fella's. Seller just deleted the BIN today. It was set at $3k, and that was the absolute max I would've given. I get he wants what he can get, but since he's hopin' it goes higher, I think I'll just keep looking. You confirmed my fears. I'm not trying to buy from the bargain basement. Up here in Jersey stuff seems to be at least $4-4.5K unless it's just thrashed. Thanks for taking the time on it. Back to the craigslist ads!
