1979 cj7

I am considering buying a 1979 CJ7 Levi Edition. I looked at it tonight, it was dark and raining, and the guy said swing by and see it. Overall it looked like a nice jeep, solid body and frame needed some tlc in the back on the drivers side, but nothing major. It looks like somebody did some work to the frame and painted it.

The interior was decent, floors were decent. The soft top would need to be replaced along with both doors. It doesn't have hard doors just soft, and like I said they need to be replaced. Even though it was raining, the soft top wasn't leaking, and it rained hard for two days.

I didn't get to start it up or drive it, but from looking it seemed solid. It has an auto tranny, 53k on the original engine, which is a 304 V8. The tires have more than half tread, mnot sure of size, but they were chubby tires and bigger than the ones on my suv.

The guy is asking $1,400 obo for it. Is it a good price for this jeep? I want to offer lower since I am going to have to put new doors and a new top on to make it to my standards. This jeep would be a daily driver also.
