School Bus wreck

So my buddy was going to pick up another kid on the way to school, he was doing about 40 on a 35 mph road when a school bus ran a stop sign and pulled out onto the road taking a left, barely slowed down at all. anyways, my friend all but locked up his brakes and rammed into the bus, thankfully he got away with just a mangled face and cut up wrist, the jeep's totaled, the bus is pretty ****ed up too... and he was at 0% fault

Wow, looks like he almost drove through the bus... It always amazes me how cheap school buses are...
They fold up like tin cans!!!

i like how in the article they neglect to mention the bus ran a stop sign. so everyone thinks it was just a "stupid teenager" driving recklessly and hit a bus.

noticed that too, if the bus driver was cited by the police (which he should have been apparently) then they should have mentione dthat, otherwise a lot of people reading that are going to think it was the kids fault

I used that point actually in a paper i just finished about the media's control over society. I argued that with the spin towards the fault of the student that the Ledger had put on it, an outsider(JF) would be led to believe that the student was responsible for the accident although this could not be farther from the case. The kid who hit the bus is doing well still, just concussed and has a mangled face, he really is lucky he was wearing his seatbelt because his air bags didnt' deploy, it was a 2001 grand cherokee V8, about whats do you guys think he'll get back from the insurance company who totaled it, assuming the final verdict is that he was 0% at fault?

He should sue the news station for character defamation.

Well the bus went through a stop sign cutting across his lane when he had the right of way. He shouldnt be at any fault.

I guess because it's a school bus; It thought it could run a stop sign. Poor Jeep, Glad no one was seriously hurt.

Definitely, what that news station did is bull****, he needs to push their buttons real hard. Not only did his face get messed up, after he's out of the hospital everyone is going to be thinking it was his fault, what's that gonna do to his already lowered self-esteem from his facial injuries?

technically they never said anyone was at fault, but they could have thrown a few little details in.

That's definitely character defamation. . . I would at least go down to their office and raise hell. It also appears as though the article was written by an intern, it's very vague about the details, I mean it gives the who, what, where, and when, but besides that, it doesn't do anything for me. I read the article, and though it provided information, I still knew no more after reading it, than what I learned about it here.

Seriously though, if you don't go to the newspaper office, at least write a letter to the editor.
