yeah knowing how fast sand can move out from under your feet i would NEVER try this on high tide. or any tide.... salt is bad.

That high tide came in pretty fast. Reminds me why I dont drive on the beach alone.
still an idiot for driving out on the beach in stormy/overcast weather

here's a quote from the description:
Quote:
This guy made the unfortunate decision to take his rig and spend the day at the beach. Unfortunately, being an out-of-towner he obviously did not realize that where he parked is hard compact (drivable)sand but when the tide starts coming in it turns soft really, really quick. Common mistake that happens way too often.
One of the mistakes he made, which we (the tow truck driver and myself) noticed when we were pulling it out at 3:00a.m. was that he had pulled the center part of his valve stem out, obviously thinking that if he let some of the air out of his tires that it would help him get himself out. Unfortunately, it let out ALL the air out and so when he tried to drive off all it did was make the rubber part of the tire spin. Rims spinning, rubber part now loose...dumb move.

Topgear episode where they chain the toyota hilux truck and let the tide take it out, come back in the morning and the thing starts up and runs perfectly fine, gotta love those Yota Diesel engines.

Wow that really sucks, did the guy know where the tide was at before he was driving there. I can't help but think if he had some sort of winch he could have gotten out. Or maybe some shock cord and another truck pulled him out.

Gulp. sucks. I have seen 3 cars with trailers go into the water loading boats, slick boat ramps....2wd......no common sense = big fines by the EPA, and ruined cars.

This is something I have never seen though. Usually when I am at the beach and the tide is getting close to the towel, Ill pick up and move back 20 feet or so. If I had a jeep on the beach I believe ide do the same thing. People are idiots. I wanna see the first moment that guy new he was f&*(ed.
