My brother says the same thing... He is a cop here in Philly and had a bad wreck about two years ago. He was out of work for about 5 or 6 months and his partner out for over a year. He is convinced that if he was driving an Impala he would have been more seriouly hurt or killed.
His Crown Vic:
(headed to a officer involved shooting... drunk driver ran a red light and pushed him into a steel utility pole.)

Some pics that he took of his frinds cars over the past few years:

I just read in the paper today 2 teenagers where driving down the highway in their wrangler with the doors off and neither of them were wearing seat belts. The passenger fell out and was killed. Pretty stupid to not wear your seat belt going down the highway with no doors.

Why is that so bad ? Life And Death, deal with it.
That's nothing, i have pix of decapitations by seat belt. Now that would be a gross pic to post. And whats "disturbing" about the pic ? If anything its reality.
Wear you're seat belt or don't, damned if you do, damned if don't. If its you're time to go, its you're time.

The worst thing about the death pic above... the guy sitting next to his friend who just died by seatbelt is getting treated for apparently not too serious injuries, imagine how he feels...

i can personally relate to any bad accident, back in january my brother was riding in the bed of an s-10.... to make a long story short, the driver (of the s10) was going 45 in a 25 on a sharp turn, went off the road, hit a tree and ejected my brother who died instantly. Im only 16 so I understand your p.o.v on trying to make an impact on the younger crowd.

i can post pictures of the vehicle if anyone is interested

Rolled it over the driveway I was supposed to pull into. This happened in 2004.

I was going to a friends house and didnt know the road that well. He was in front of me in a car. I went into a curve before his driveway going a little faster than I should have been going and my passenger tires hit some gravel from a driveway in the curve. That sent my back end off the road into grass. I got it back on the road but I turned too hard and it sent me off the other side of the road backwards. My pass rear tire hit a cement pipe that was under his driveway(notice the spare on the pass rear. the pipe broke the wheel in half) and that launched the truck into the air and it landed on the roof, then rolled 4 or 5 times. It ended up on the roof and I crawled out the window. I walked away with minor scrapes and bruises on my face and neck.

Heres what ended up to my first jeep, got rear ended by a (presumably) drunk/high driver in a stolen car on I-96 in detroit while it was under construction. I was doing 45 in the construction zone at 3-ish in the morning, the guy flew up behind me doing at least 90, hit me off center and stayed in the gas pushing me into the right side concrete divider, spun a few times but stayed rubber side down thanks to my cheapie tires. he kept going another half mile or so until the blazer he was driving gave up the ghost and ditched it. never found the guy. I owned that thing for a whopping 8 months. i still miss that ZJ

edit: whole thing was tweaked like a beer can but all 4 of us walked away, i dont care what naysayers have to say about unibodies, that thing is the reason i'm still walking
