Bad accident...

To make a long story short some guy on the right lane cut my girl off about 3 ft in front of the jeep to get to the lane on her left and didnt make it cause of another car (we were both already exiting towards another freeway). He slammed on his brakes and needless to say we didnt have enough time or room to prevent this from happening.....

Since no one was hurt we decided to get off the busy freeway. We pulled over to a friends house close by to wait for the tow truck and took additional pics....

Believe it or not this was not a salvage as we originally thought it was. Our insurance company was great and the jeeps' currently getting repaired.

What a jerk!

If you need any stock parts (like flares, for instance) let me know. I'm selling mine and I'll give you a good price for anything you need. I have suspension parts too. PM me in you're interested.

1) tub is bent. I'd try to get it totalled.
2) how did you mess up your grill/fenders/hood and not even dent the bumper?

This looks like an excellent time for a highline kit, some tube fenders, and some upgraded brakes. Either that or the snowplow option changed over to the cow catcher.

it was a Tahoe and it looked slightly lifted...we hit his right rear fender. He already made it partially into the left lane when he realized that there was an oncoming car and he jammed on his brakes. Oh, the bad thing about this is, like I previously said, is that we were exiting towards another freeway, so this jerk didnt stop after the accident. We pulled over waited for about 20 min but he never resurfaced. We assumed he was "hiding" something?

KBB on the jeep was $18.5k....damage was approx. $8.5K....less than 50% damage so I assumed that was the reason for insurance not totalling it. I was surprised myself! We're glad to take her back though. We're just hoping theres not alot of driveline/steering probs after.

you crawled underneath and taken a look yet? It's not the front that would worry me, it's all the other expensive parts sitting behind the firewall that would worry me. The sudden shifting of a part up front can cause parts behind it to fail.

My friend shoved his front driveshaft up into his transfercase. That's what I mean. Give it a good look over. And if you haven't gotten underneath it, I would do that asap.

Hit and RUN?! That sucks man. I have a friend who had an accidnent and he cashed out with the insurance comapany. I remember he fixed everything himself and got a few extra things he wanted with the cash that was left over. If you can fix the damage yourself, you could view this as an opportunity to upgrade a few things. For your sake, I hope it was just jeep body damage and that everyone involved is not injured.

it sucks that it happened to you, had one just like it in my old car, but got rearended. once they start pulling it apart that bill will increase significantly. so dont get your hopes up on keeping it.

The jeeps' at the body shop and has already been looked over. Frame is straight. Motor and mounts are straight. Axle, driveshaft, etc. are all good. If you remember me mentioning, we drove to friends house after the accident, so the jeep is driveable. Most of the impact happened on the top end in the front of the jeep. Maybe since the Tahoe we hit was lifted it may have prevented more severe damage.
