Trip: Miami - Atlanta - Nashville...in June 2011

Hi !

My wife and me are planning our trip for the next summer.
In June we will start our tour in Miami (free miles from Vienna to florida for her) on june 3rd and we have to be in Nashville from June 9th-12th to visit the country music festival.

A few days we will spend in Atlant at my brotherīs house.

We have to return to Miami to take our flight back to Austria on the 17th.

The tickets for the show and for the plane are bought but we are allowed to change something - that means we could stay a few days longer (come earlier and/or stay longer)

Do you have any suggestions concerning off road trips (with the possibility to rent a jeep), or visiting some mud/truck/offroad SHOWS...?

Or anything else that you would suggest ?

Greetings from Austria / Europe !

gerald

Nice one or two day trip from Atlanta. Rent a Jeep Rubicon and take out the proper insurance, if possible. Possibility of damage to the Jeep is moderate to high. There are trails, hill climbs, and rocks, some very challenging. I wouldn't go alone. Try to get with some of the Georgia off road clubs. As for mud in Florida there is a track near Ft Myers and one near Lakeland with monthly mud days I think. Many others in FL, GA, TN to I am sure. Not my deal anymore. Do you have a Jeep in Austria? If so what kind of offroad terrain do you ride on?

thanks for your answer !
I hope to get in contact to some members of some off road clubs here in the forum !

Sure, I had some jeeps for the last 21 years
Starting with a CJ 7 in 1989, another CJ7, an XJ and and an 5.9 ZG (thatīs a ZJ built in Graz/Austria) and now a have an 2003/04 TJ Sahara, automatic, 2,5" rancho rock crawler suspension,33x13.50 mickey thompson claws, or 33x11.50 mickey thompson atz (replacing the 32x11.50 cooper stt right now)....

We donīt have much rocks for crawling here in Austria - eeem, we DO, but itīs not allowed to drive in the Alps at most of the place where it would be nice and a challenge
Most of the terrain is dirt, mud, in the woods,...but real rock crawling would be a desired challenge ! ))

greetings, gerald

Where would he do that, other than Moab Utah? Hell, that's where he ought to be going anyway.

Since you are passing through Alabama you may want to try one of the ORV parks here.

Here are a few:

http://www.choccoloccomountain.com/

http://www.mountainsideoffroadpark.com/

http://www.morrismountainorv.com/

http://www.stonylonesomeohv.us/

There are a few others that aren't coming to mind right now. The only of these that I have been to is Choccolocco Mountain, which was really good. All of these are very good, though. If you decided to hit any of these, it probably wouldn't be a problem getting a group together to ride.
