Is Tellico COMPLETELY closed thru 2010?

I know parts of Tellico were closed or closing last year. Is the whole park closed to traffic this year and next?

Well, that really sux. Guess I'll have to try out Uwharie. It's actually closer anyway. It's just that my bride would go to Tellico with me as long as we stopped by the Biltmore House on the way home.

I've been up there in June of this year there are some trails in the area open (see picture)
One I like to just have scenic ride is just before you cross the last bridge before the state line. Goes up to an area called Beaver Dam Bald. GPS 35 deg 14.59"N 84deg 07'30.38W The trail splits at 35 deg 14"47.63"N 84deg 05'07.24"W Go to the right, (the left goes into the closed trails in Tellico OHV area)

Oh, I wouldn't recommend doing the trail alone. Kinda get that "Deliverance" feeling. Pretty far up...if 'ya know what I mean. Fortunately, a HCP holder can now legally carry in state parks.

Doesn't sound like it would be worth the 435 mile trip from home to Murphy. Maybe in a couple of years. Maybe I'll get to Uwharrie.
