If it does, try some of the forest roads, running out of Del Rio, up to Max Patch, NC. They are tame during the year, but with them running across the top of the Blue Ridge, they get dumped with snow. My son and I run them all the time when we (WNC area) get the "Northwest Flow" snow events. I;ve seen an inch in Asheville, NC, be over 4 feet on the mountains! Fun times!
We were in the Smokys just before Christmas when the snow came through. We were staying in a cabin in the hills around Wears Valley. If not for the Jeep, the whole family would have been stuck in a hotel .
I also had my first experience with getting hit by the wall of snow a snow plow is throwing around . Now I know to get out of the way....lesson learned.
Man, that's a ton of snow Enka! I just drove around here in Knox. Obviously grass and everything are covered. Roads weren't when I first went out. But now it's starting to slush. It's 30° out right now.
