Goin to OBX - Carolla for Memorial day

Hey, im going to be spending the next week in corolla about 3 miles up the beach from the end of the road. I was wondering if anybody knows any good places to go driving up there? Or even if someone wants to meet up? Ive looked around online and pretty much everything is on the Hatteras seashore all the way back down past nags head.

Corolla

I think you can still drive up there in Corolla. You can go out there and check out the herd of wild horses that live up there. I haven't been in a long time, but I know they are still there.

You cant drive south of where the road ends, but all up north in Carova towards Virginia is good. Lots of houses up there that you can only get to by driving the beach. There's even a few trails up there im sure you could find, but just be careful its not posted, and the horses and pigs should be out so keep an eye out for them (the horses are pretty amazing to see).

Those horses and dunes are highly protected by law so make sure you be careful not to disrupt either. I lived in Kitty Hawk for about 2 years and there were reports all the time about it. Even once when GraveDigger (the Monster Truck) went joy riding and destroyed some dunes. He has since moved his shop more inland.
