between Auburn AL and Houston TX

I'm looking for a good location between Houston TX and Auburn AL. I have a friend in Aulburn and I'm in houston. Rather do trails and rocks vs mud. Anyone in the area know of a good place between AL and TX? As you can see it's no rock buggy, but it gets the job done.

OK I looked on the map and Jackson Mississippi would be a similar drive.

Where do you Jackson Mississippians go wheeling?
