You could try the come-along. Just be sure to wrap something around the tree so you don't kill it in the process.

If that doesn't work, I'm betting that your TJ could indeed pull it out. That i6 has some torque.

(sorry for the almost useless reply...the two options you stated seem to also be the best ones IMO)

2005 kaufman trailer with an extra wide 103 inch deck, 2 10,000 pound jacks front storage box, adjustable hitch, good brakes and new tires. The camper is a 98 sun lite pop up style with toilet and shower, cold A/C and it is extremely clean. I mounted the camper on the trailer with turn buckles and i mounted tool boxes on each side for camping gear and spare parts. I also have a 6 foot tool box that ill throw in. I am including a brand new generator that has been used once for memorial weekend. I have used this set up to haul my rock crawler to different parks around Texas for the last year. With the camper top down there is very little wind resistance and you cant feel it behind you. im selling this to fund another project. $8000 title in hand and the price is firm. Please email me with any questions. I can deliver anywhere for a small fee.
