Trinchera Peak Road

I was thinking of taking this little trail over my weekend away this 4th of July, but I don't really know much about it. I just happened upon it tonight. I had been planning on going further up into Colorado, but perhaps Echo Lake is too far this time.

Here's the link I found on the trail;
SummitPost - Trinchera Peak -- Climbing, Hiking & Mountaineering

Does anyone know much about it? Anyone wanna go?

Yes, it snows in Texas.

This one's been on my to-do list for awhile but I haven't made it down there yet.

Well, I'm doing late-night planning before leaving in the morning. You can let me know if you wanna try that route, and I'll plan for it. LOL Talk about last minute! But alas, tis unlikely. I might head on up to Echo Lake again after all.

Well, the season for exploring is fast approaching once more, and I'm curious about taking this trip again. I was considering it this weekend, but I've been sick and working every day so preparations are delayed. If anyone has taken this route before, I'd like your insight. I'm also wondering if anyone would be interested in going along should I decide to go sometime.

I'm thinking of heading up to Colorado this Saturday and seeing if the trail is clear. If not, I'll just camp at the furthest campground I can get to. I'd like to have someone along, but I'll go on my own if no one else is up for it. So any takers, post now.

Come one, come all, to the spring Trinchera trip on April 16th.

LOL You're not making my hopes that the roads are clear any higher. Darn it. But thanks for the heads up. I guess it might not work out this weekend, but Springs is further north. So maybe there will be little enough snow for me to at least make it up to Bear Lake. I gotta get out of Texas, and you Coloradoans, Coloradians? You all are lucky to live where you are.
