Mark twain nat'l forest

I'll be spending a few days exploring the area and camping at a new spot each night. starting from poplar bluff,Mo and working my way north.
Can anyone suggest good camping spots along a river or lake in the middle of nowhere, ie.. peace and quiet ? Thanks

I haven't been through there, but I think you can probably find a lot of good info on the National Forest Service page for Mark Twain NF.
