Wharton Clean Up

I have talked to some of the rangers and people who work for the state parks commission. It looks like this will all be easier to organize with a little more time since we want it to be an event in the public eye, hopefully educational.

I am targeting late May or June. I will be talking to a variety of people in the coming week and I will have a date and some of the basic information to share with everyone by next weekend.

Thanks to everyone that have shown interest. I got a little overwhelmed with the support and the various organizations that contacted me directly or who's contact information was passed along to me about being involved. From the looks of things we are going to have Boy Scouts, some local church organizations, Jeep Forum members, my club guys(www.NJFBOA.org), and members from other various car and truck groups from all over the area.

This has somehow changed from a simple idea to help clean up the woods into a fantastic opportunity for educate and participate in the community around us.

Thanks to everyone for their support. It feels great to see how we as Americans can rally to take care of our own local needs and help one another.

I have to tie up a few loose ends this week and I will be able to announce all of the pertinent info for people to plan to attend.

We are expecting to have some solid corporate and government support as well as press coverage. I am just blown away that something like this could rally up so much support so fast. I have been doing various car cruises and racing events for more than a decade now, and this is the fastest anything I have ever been involved in has ever taken off.

Stay tuned, this is gonna be a ton of fun.

p.s. CRAWL THIS THREAD!!!!

If anyone has any questions or has helpful contact info, please feel free to PM me. Please be patient if my box is full, my current employment(unemployment) situation is keeping me from upgrading my account currently.

Count me in. I was there over the weekend and the trash (and one abandoned car we stumbled across at 1/4 mile) was everywhere....beer cans, paper products, deflated baloons, etc.

Thanks for the support gang.

I am gonna have a lot of details by the end of the week. It looks like we are going to be able to get some good support from the local community.

I am still planning this based on the concept of it being a weekend long event.

I haven't been in touch with any other events. I have been talking to the rangers, the state, and some potential event sponsors.
