Rausch Creek--- Sunday August 10th

Hi all. Going to RC 08/10/08. The plan is to wheel a 50/50 mix of blue and green. Will take a nice smooth pace thru the more technical stuff so we can spot for each other to limit the rubs.

Already have a group of two jeeps, myself an JeSimmers. Both of our wives and my son will be coming as well. If you are interested in joining up send me a PM with contact info to get a list together.

We plan on getting to the park between 8 and 8:30, and rolling out between 8:30 and 9 sharp. Will plan on ending the day at the comp area a little after 4. Keith

Your rig will be fine. Basically the blue has a little bigger rocks, little deeper water, little steeper hills, etc. I'm sure you get the idea. Will see you there.

Do you have a CB? They are great for group riding so we can communicate better! Keith

Hmmm...put me down for a 'maybe'. There are a couple of things I want to get done on the Jeep before I wheel again, so if I finish them in the next couple of weeks I'll be there!

what was the mix of blue/green for the 27th run? I'd want to take off my track bars before that, I don't know if I'll go yet... put me down for maybe

I would say we ran 95%+ greens or there abouts.

yeah, Keith's right. with the exception of that first nasty hill climb that i started the day out with and you guys went around, and the late in the day decent where we watched the CJ fight his way up the hill we were going down, we were on green trails all day. the spots that had the go arounds could be classified as Blue though. the main difference between the green and blue trails is the number of go arounds and the duration of the obstacles. a blue trail will generally force you to take the tougher lines where a green will give you the option of going around or through and the blue will have more of the tougher spot.

don't worry too much about the 35. so long as you keep off the skinny pedal you should be alright. wheel hop/wheel spin is the quickest way to kill one as long as you're open. don't jam it to get through obstacles and let your group work to get you unstuck rather than trying to force the jeep through something. better to take some extra time getting through the trail in one piece.

How challenging are the green trails. Can a JK stock X 2d get by easily or would you expect to need a winch. Expect body/undercarriage banging, denting, scraping or fire road type stuff. I'm thinking of a day or two with a campout but don't want to pound my new car. Are a lift, tires & limited slip or lockers needed? Thanks.

I wheeled a JK stock 4 door on the 27th and was good to go! Your going to hear a lot of noise that sounds like damage but at the end of the day you will find none. These things are made to take a hit. Just use your head and pick a good line. I would strongly recommend a set of sway bar discos though. Easy to install and operate and you will have a ball on the trails. Not making a sales pitch but I need to go higher and upgrade to the next size up and I will sale my JKS discos(one week old) for 110.00 shipped. PM if interested. Either way GO! You won't regret it.

JKS Discos,,,I need more exposure to the language. Swaybar disconnects? Are they electric? Does it allow more articulation of the axels? Increase travel? I'm not planning on too many mods as I plan this to be a street/trailer rig. I do not want to compromise the street manners and towing ability, but I'm already looking at mods, you know the drill.
