No Moab--- How about a Coastal Wheeling trip?

I don't think I'll be doing Moab in '07 (as much as I want to). It just doesn't seem very feasable. Not to mention that I'd like to have much more done to my rig before going.

I was thinking that maybe we can do some kind of Coastal run? There has to be some good wheeling up and down the Coast?? Gas is done (again), and a drive down the Coast shouldn't be that bad.

If anyone has a double trailer..... I'd gladly split all cost of travel with you.

Anyone have some suggestions for wheeling?

Hey Andy (drewman)..... When is that place in Virginia open again?

Here is a cool article about the place: http://www.tellico4x4.com/tellico_trail_bfgoodrich.htm
Part of the article:
After a careful selection process, five of North America's “outstanding” off-road trails were nominated for uniqueness, terrain type and enthusiast following. Black Bear Pass, near Ouray, Colorado, is a picturesque trail nestled in the San Juan Mountains. Pyeatt Draw, a scenic and exciting trail situated in Payson, Arizona. Hell's Revenge, with its slick sandstone slopes brings adventure to thrill seekers in Moab, Utah. Historic Naches Pass, also known as the Longmire Wagon Train, takes off road drivers over the Cascade Mountains in Naches, Washington. Last, but not least, Upper Tellico OHV Area, Trail #4, located in the Natahala National Forest, is located in North Carolina where Tennessee, South Carolina and Georgia meet.

Looks like it is a MUST do wheeling spot

The two upcoming events are April 29-30th, or Jun 9-11th?? We can try and find some other wheeling opportunities in between here and there.

The two upcoming events are April 29-30th, or Jun 9-11th.....

Out of those two dates, which is better for everyone that is interested.

Qucik Pro/ Con:
April 29-30th---- Better weather, but 2 days here.

Jun 9-11th----- A bit hotter weather, but we get 3 days of wheeling here.

I'm kind of thinking the Jun run?? If the place is everything it is supposed to be (sounds awesome)... I'd rather get an extra day of wheeling in

Nick those are 2 different places I posted. Tellico is open pretty much all year, it's a state forest or something like that. But I know they have some big events there - not sure if we would want to be involved or just try to keep it to our group.

The bigdoggsoffroad is the private place in Virginia. And those are the dates for this year, doesn't look like they have 2007 dates up yet.

Tellico is always open... we wouldn't need to pick dates. For me personally a run before the summer starts would be easier... and better weather to boot.

The big doggs offroad............ Is that place pretty cool? If so, maybe we can do that.... do Tellico and find some other places as well? Maybe do the April 29-30th time frame (I know this isn't the date)??

What other suggestions for wheeling are there besides these two places?

We set a couple tentative dates, recruit a couple locals to guide, and go wheel?

Are we talking about just tellico? Uwharrie in NC looks like it might have some good wheeling as well:

i would be down for tellico, but the longe to put if off the better for me, early summer would be good. there are a few from tri-state that have been there and could lead us around im sure so we could pick up a few more rigs that way too, i have been told you can easily spend a week at tellico because you have to drive a bit to get to some of the trails.

Hopefully we won't have to wait that long to meet up on the trails
