Lake Ontario - South East?

I have recently been in the mood to do some wheeling/camping on the sand by the lakes/oceans. Living in Binghamton, I travel to see my girl in Long Island and I have seen some topics about beach 4x4's and camping on longbeach/fire island, etc..

But, Since I spend a majority of time around alexandria bay and a cabin off of Sandy Creek. I was curious if anyone knew of any spots up north to wheel and camp?
