RC = more distance from my house = - wheeling time for me + less trails = PAP>RC

Don't get me wrong I like RC but it wasn't what it once was. It's all stacked and beaten down now. Paragon had better black/red stuff, and didn't get as much traffic from the stackers. I miss it. Damn shame to know that all those trails are still there wasting away.

john, rc is not much further than paragon from you. skip 80 and 81, take 287 to 78 to exit 13 in PA and cut through pine grove. that's how I go from hackensack area and it takes me 2 1/2 hours towing the trailer.

did you get that jeep running since we pushed it off my trailer?

I must say I miss it as well. It was a great place and the monthly rides were always enjoyable. The rides were a great way to meet others interested in wheeling, and you could just show up no planning on your part.

The owners are fantastic people too. I broke my arm there riding an ATV and Stephanie drove me out in one of their Jeeps herself.

They own the Badlands now. I wish they could come back....

I miss the place as well. I do like RC but it would be nice to have a choice where to go.

New park is a little bigger than Paragon was, and will be just as good if not better from what I saw when I was there last month. I cant wait to get back in my new rig

Had being the key word. Doesn't really matter now that it's not open....

BTW, is Kyle still taking small groups of folks out? I heard that he had access to a couple hundred acres past PAP near Red Ridge.

That was Red Ridge and it was shut down. Apparently Red Ridge gets some sort of huge property tax break for that property for preserving it. Allowing Kyle to charge people to wheel there was considered using the land for business which is against the rules of that tax break. At least that's what I gathered.

I had her put back together more or less and on the road for about a week. I decided the frame was to rotted for it to be safe to drive and the brake lines were leaking. I have a new frame in the driveway and the body/parts in my yard. Going SOA with a D60 in the rear and a corp. 10 in the front. Maybe I'll have it done this spring. Here's an old pic

Back to the thread. How far away is the new park?

It was 5 1/2 hours from me, the town is called Patton and it's just outside of Altoona. Definetly hit up the Patton Pub for some dinner if you're out there. The drive will get easier once they connect the new I-99 to I-80 sometime in the next couple of months. It was nearly completed when I drove on it last month.

Sounds like a cool plan, good luck with it.
