I dont have winch but have a comealong and 100' wire, shovel. Just looking for some wheeling buddies to go out there and tear it up. email me if interested. chadpendarvis1@yahoo.com

![]() The above is a road and trail map of Freetown State Forest. Available here: http://www.mass.gov/dcr/parks/trails/Freetown-FallRiver.gif to dowload and print. Jeeps (and full size 4WD rigs) are ONLY allowed on roads. We are NOT allowed on trails. Traveling off the roads and onto to trails will do one of two things or both. It will surely give all responsible wheelers a bad name and will lead to the closing of places like Freetown to ANY 4WD use. And.. it could get you a ticket as well. Probably in the $100 range, if you get caught on a trail, not a road. Thank you in advance for taking this map with you and staying on the roads. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Talk soon,

Freetown state forest is open to any vehicle that stays on an open road. Any road with an open gate is legal. This was told to me by an Environmental Officer after she stopped me to check the vehicle registration. If they see you, they will most likely stop you to check the reg.
There has been allot of stolen vehicles dumped in there. Especially near the gas line that runs from slab bridge road in freetown to quanipaug rd in Dartmouth. Don't tear it up and it will continue to stay open. If they start seeing extensive damage on the trails, they will lock the gates. Vic

Yea nobody every told me anything about it, I just found my way back there one day just driving around looking for trails off the road. Seen a few people back out in the Pipeline witch is pretty rocky with a few good pits. Thanks for the Info though

That pipe line your talking about is the same one that stolen cars have been dumped at.

The gas pipeline is not a road and you shouldnt be travelling on it.
Those cops out there have NO sense of humor. I've been driving and riding in those woods for 15 years now and havent once had a problem with the officers because we always stay on the roads and never on the horse or walking trails. Be nice back there, dont "tear it up" and they should contniue to keep it open, my dad used to ride his dirtbike in there 35 plus years ago.

Don't get caught on that pipeline. If you do go on it, don't be surprised when they tow your rig, fine the hell out of you, and summons you to court.
There are roads that get you to the sand pit and the small rock quarry that are located off of the line. You just have to find them.

yea but the roads out there suck... it would be good to take a car out there and mess around, but taking my Jeep out there with super swamper's?? No challenge.. I'll find somewhere else to many people so concerned about it but yet dirt bikes can be out there ripping it up? makes lots of sense.. anyways anyone know some muddy spots in the south coast of Mass hit me up I'll go.

I have never been there yet but I plan on going soon. I agree with the Ocean State Jeepers guy, the only reason we are allowed to Jeep places is by being responsible. Be a Tread Lightly Advocate and protect your Jeep Brothers and Sisters!!!
