Fall Finale Run (Penobscot County, Maine)

Penobscot Valley 4-Wheeld Drive will be hosting a ride this November. We would like to invite interested folks the opportunity to ride on some of the trails we love here in Penobscot County, Maine.

We will be having a ride on Sunday November 15th. We will be meeting at the Mobil On-The-Run located at the intersection of Route 2 and Route 178 in Milford, Maine at 10AM (leaving for the trails at 10:30AM!) This will be a rain/snow/shine ride!

We will be including other Maine groups in this ride also.

We will be traveling one of our favorite riding areas: Passadumkeag Mountain. The ride, depending on how many people show, could take anywhere from 4 min to 8 max hours, but please plan on at least 6 hours. A basic map of our trails and the immediate area will be provided to those visiting and not familiar with the area.

We plan on stopping on the trail for lunch during the ride. Food such as munchies and sandwiches and beverages can be purchased at the Mobil-On-The-Run before we leave for the trails. (It's a fairly well stocked convenience store.) This store also sells all 3 grades of gasoline as well as diesel.

There will be an area for trailered rigs to unload. Please keep in mind that our trails are small, more suited for Jeeps! If you have a larger rig (full size trucks) you may have difficulty with a few spots.

The ride will contain trails that may pose issues for smaller, fully stock rigs but can be accomplished with care and correct line choices. There will also be opportunities for fully stock vehicles to park trailside and the drivers should have no problem finding a seat to ride the trail with another individual should the climbs be a bit more than the driver chooses to attempt.

After the trail, the drivers can be reunited with their vehicles as bypasses are plentiful. For an example, a non-lifted ZJ was able to accomplish both the difficult climbs with stock wheels/tires and only a belly-skid plate (with some loud thumps and bumps underneath!)

We will have a short driver's meeting before the ride starts. All our rules are basically the same as most groups: Tow points, tow straps, lights on when driving, preferably CBs and under no circumstances will alcohol be allowed before or during the ride.

Please let your group Admin know if you plan to attend so we can plan accordingly or contact us directly via email. Admin@pv4wd.com

For more information about our club rules and requirements, please view our main site at www.pv4wd.com and follow the navigation on the left side.

The property at our home in Howland, Maine will be available for anyone that would like to camp out with either tents, trailers or RV's before and/or after the day of the ride and there are plenty of hotel choices in the greater Bangor area should one not want to brave the elements!

As other local clubs will be attending, we all will have stickers for sale to help support our clubs! Local clubs will include Maine4x4.org, MaineOffRoading.org and MidcoastJeep.com.

Thank you and hope to see as many members out on the trail as possible.

~Staff of PV4WD~
