Dirty Jersey visits the Pine Barrens

The players. ME, cameraman, jeep at home due to lack of tow vehicle. Joe in his 74 CJ5, corvette motor, Corp 14, dana 60 both locked and 39.5" boggers with home grown SOA. Fresh buttercup paint.

Joe's brother Scott in his 83?? CJ7, 350 chevy, wrangler body, dana 44 f/r, fully locked, 35x15.5 boggers.

Jeff in his YJ with 44's f/r with spools, inline 6 and 36" TSL's.

John in the mule, 74 Bronco, 351, ford 9"/ dana 44 both locked nad presently on 36" TSL's.

and Darryl in his opened rear mostly stock TJ on 36" TSL's.

Well, Friday was like a spring day. Great weather and water levels were at May type depths. Saturday, heavey rain, snow, 34 degrees, every trail, including the main routes were nasty. It was an epic day and total carnage insued. Some of the deepest water levels I have seen in 30 years. Bronco, blown motor, someting on the passenger side of the motor, knock and lots of smoke. YJ, bad clutch and blown motor. At high RPM the motor just quit. Timing belt maybe? Action shots will be posted tommorrow.

Well here are a couple of action shots. This is Joe in one of the regular spots. It's 4 feet to the top of that passenger side fender!

Jeff in deep just moments before the motor went.

A small group shot on the sand bar.

Darryl with no snorkel!!!!

Scott going deep and yes, that's the shallow part.

As mentioned above, you only see this kind of water in the spring during a down pour. This is the road from high crossing to carranza road. I've driven cars down this road many time. It was almost entirely under water and I never even noticed this sloppy hill before.
Darryl

Scott
