Wheelin in SE MI

OK guys. I'm back from overseas and need some trail time. The wife wants to go also to practice her photography. A good chance to get those flex pics into JP Mag. Anyone interested. I have next weekend free and need some ideas on where to go.

I wouldn't mind knowing of a few places around here myself. I'm in Ypsi. Anybody have any ideas for legal wheeling?

Heh, I go to school in Ypsi.

Ive never wheeled in these places, but when I used to go to school on site at Willow Run, a classmate would take me out into some woods right near the airfield. I dont know if it was legal or not, but I dont remember seeing any signs other than those that labeled the airfield boundaries (where we never went.....$20,000 fine IIRC). Of course, that didnt make it legal.

Honestly though, the only place I really know of is the Mounds near flint. The only other DNR designated ORV park in the area(south of saginaw) is Silver Lake.

Just a word of thought....if it ain't your land and you ain't sure....it's illegal. Thinking otherwise could only lead to trouble.

i just got back from a trip to port huron. it was nice and some trails were good. some were a lil too tough for me(06 WK stock). if anyone has GPS im sure i can give you the coordinates to the trails that were to rough for me. if anyone is familiar with rose city and mio there are some great trails there and also for photography. the only bad thing is at dusk the deer run crazy. almost hit 6 on M33. i hope this helps.

I used to have a cabin in Lewiston.

But that got sold before the jeep was bought.
