N-IL, S-WI, NW-IN, Gear install (All)

Looking for the best shop to install new gears and axles before I head to Moab. Who do you recommend in Northern IL, Southern WI or NW Indiana?

theres a place in Portage called Northern Trans and Diff. I know they do quality work though not to sure you would want to drive out to Portage Indiana from Palatine if you can find something closer.

Problem is I can't find anybody recommending anything local and since I'll drive hours to wheel figure I'd do the same to get gears done right.

I can probably get the wife to pick me up and drop me off in Portage but "hey honey can you drive 8 hours this weekend and next so I can get gears for my trip to Moab? You know the trip you can't go on because you're out of vacation time." Probably not going to fly.

Wish I could find a place locally that is highly recommend. You'd figure the 3rd largest city in the country would have enough jeepers that could support a few good 4x4 shops. One I've seen mentioned has mixed reviews on lift installs and fixing DW so I won't even consider letting them touch my gears. There was one other place with good reviews from last year but every search leads me to a defunct not found website.

Thought I'd update this in case anybody else is looking for a shop to do gears around Chicago or southern WI.

I found a great shop to do the gears.

Scott's install includes coming back after 500 miles to check the wear pattern again. He also takes photos of the contact pattern so if you need to do a warranty claim you can prove the install was correct.

Suburban Drive Line in Villa Park also. I have had a few things done there. Great guys to work with. Take there time to work with you and talk to you. Great work, they do both light duty and heavy duty work. Good pricing as well.
