August 6-7-8 TRJC BLAST! (IL)

One of the funner events in the Midwest is the BLAST! put on by the Two Rivers Jeep Club. It's open to the public for all Jeeps, early Broncos, Blazers, or waddayagot. We've even had a Pinzgaur show up a couple of times, and a guy in a 4wd Eagle Spirit. Sorry, but full size just don't fit on our trails. Some of the attendees will be praying for rain- that makes for some fun for the mudders, but is a nightmare for most of us trail guides. There's a raffle Fri. and Sat. nights where we give away a set of tires and/or a winch in addition to lots of other stuff. All the funds raised go to local charities- after expenses, of course. We got rocks and waterfalls on Lakeshore Drive; ya got to watch the spotters! Stock Jeeps can run the Ridge Rambler or Hopewell Heritage. Built Jeeps may want to attempt Atlas or Meyers Mayhem- both 4 rated trails capable of biting you in the a- well, you know. County Line, New Salem, Black Oak, Dutch Creek, Murphy's Law- we can fill your need for excitement! Check out our website at TRJC.com for more info and a signup form. See you in August!

I already sent in my registration form - now I have to call the campground and reserve our spot!

(Me and my BFG ATs are secretly hoping for LESS RAIN and MUD then there was in May.....)

We did the "basic" trails and struggled on some obstacles, even with my 33s, locked, and aired down to 12.
It was a GREAT time - and we can't wait....

This is coming up quick! This will give you a chance to test your skills or take a leisurely drive thru the hills and hollers.

We had a "trail builder" today, and for our "easy" trail, it was! Trees down, necessitating bypasses, and several low clearance widow makers. We cut some short pieces of new trail- and I've walked a long holler that will give us at least a mile plus of new trail. We'll probably cut that one in this fall or next spring, depending on hunting schedules. We had a first time driver with us- she'd been a passenger quite a bit. We broke her in right; a new trail that needs some work to get it down to a one plus category, but about 30 yards of it is three plus. It sure got her attention! She did a really great job of driving. Some videos were shot; I don't know when they'll be available.
Come on and join us! There's a new four plus trail under development that should be open for the BLAST! It's current name is the "Mystery Trail" and you could be the one to name it- particulars will be announced at the BLAST!

I opened up the camper today and the wife started loading our clothes and stuff. Only a few days before we drive down - we are excited! See you Thursday!

We are back and had an awesome time as usual. We did some harder trails this time - some agressive stuff (for us). Broke off one of the stock fogs, and tweaked a fender flare - all in all a great time again!

I uploaded my pics already:
