2009 Jamboree in Wisconsin
Newbie here, lotsa questions.......
Jeep is a stocker, daily driver. Is it worth my time to go? What is the cost? Can you camp there? Are dogs allowed? I want to learn some wheelin', meet some folks, drink some beer.

Hey check out http://jeepjamboreeusa.com/ for all the info you ever wanted to know about it. Also see that your from Milwaukee, stop over to www.wi4x4.com and register, alot of people from SE WI on there...if i remember correctly there will be some people from WI4x4 heading there...thinking of attending myself.

Sorry - dont check this forum much. My family and i did the Crandon Jamboree last year. It was a great time. Lots of nice trails - the Indians from the casino even came along on the ride in our group - just to see what it was all about. They were very happy to see the respect we have for the land is much like their own.
We also camp on all our outings. We stayed at the Forest County Veterans Memorial Park. I had site #28 - you can see it on this map.... http://www.forestcountywi.com/Vets%20Park/Overview.pdf my avatar pic is from that outing as well. You can see all my pics at: http://toddsplace.homeserver.com/jeepjam We really had a good time. The trails we did were a little tamer then some other jamborees we have been on. More trails and tight turns as opposed to large hill climbs, rocks, or mud. Last year was the first time with WOHVA and the Mole Lake Casino - so Im sure it will be even more polished this year. Word to the wise - don't break, touch, or cut any White Birch trees. Those are sacred to the Indians.

The pricing and rules are posted on the Jeep Jamboree website. There are trails for all types of Jeeps lifted or stock. They offer a 101 course for beginners. Several campgrounds in the area. Hopefully there will be a newly opened campground on the reservation in time for Jeep Jamboree. You can also search for other posts in this forum. Here is one of them.

I'm going! From Columbia Missouri.....taking my first trip up North!
I was under another forum and someone pointed out you all have been conversing here! My first jamboree but not my first 4-wheeling..... Sooooo looking forward to it. Been trying to find out where others will be staying for the event....the Casino? Anyone camping? I was checking into Piles Campground. Thoughts? Ideas? and oh yea...will be coming alone...so may need someone who wants to ride shotgun to help me guide around the trees! don't want to get one of those birch trees someone mentioned earlier! signed: Dianne and JACK the Jeep 2007 JK Wrangler, with Rubi wheels and tires and modified custom bumpers. see you all there! |
